17.04.2026: Good news for the gorge connection: According to recent travel reports, both northern links between the Todgha and Dadès gorges have been fully paved since 2024/25. The detour via Agoudal (R703/R704: Tinghir → Agoudal → Tizi n'Bou Oudi, 2,900 m → M'semrir → Boumalne Dadès) is now a continuously tarred mountain road. The direct connection P7104 (Tamtatouchte → M'semrir → Boumalne) was a tough 4x4 track until 2023 and has since been re-routed, widened and given a centre line – now passable for all motorhomes. Important: We have not yet driven these routes ourselves; this is based on 2025 travel reports and satellite imagery. The serpentines in the lower Dadès section remain narrow – large motorhomes over 6.5 m should avoid them. Road conditions in Morocco change quickly, so confirm the situation on site.
17.01.2026: The Bab Lakhmiss campsite in Taroudant is permanently closed. Please use alternative campsites such as Camping du Jardin (approx. 3.5 km outside the walls).
⚠️ IMPORTANT 15.03.2025: The N7 (Tizi n'Test Pass) between Marrakech and Taroudant has been partially severely damaged since the earthquake in September 2023 in the High Atlas. The northern ascent from Marrakech to the pass passes through the earthquake area and is currently a major construction site with a difficult gravel track. The road is passable throughout, but plan significantly more time (approx. +1-2 hours). The southern ascent from Taroudant is in better condition. Recommendation: Check the current condition before starting your journey or bypass the route well to the west via A3/N11 via Agadir (this alternative is also mentioned in our recommended route in the book). The pass itself at 2,100m is in good condition, the campsite Auberge la Haute Vue is open.
